Connecting via your internet box to watch series: yes, but not always
An internet connection is recommended for accessing social media, watching series and films, and working remotely. However, today it is possible to watch your series without connection issues by using internet access without a traditional box. That's right — you don't need a broadband box to enjoy your favourite programmes. This is made possible in large part by 4G technology.
Wi-Fi without a box: does it work?
Today, most operators offer Wi-Fi without a box. While a traditional internet box connects to the ADSL or fibre network to handle data traffic, Wi-Fi without a box relies instead on the 4G network. This solution is primarily used in rural or low-coverage areas where a standard internet connection is not available.
Installing the Bouygues 4G box or the Orange box
Users can take advantage of the 4G network to get internet without a box, and watch their series without connection issues. Typically used for smartphones, 4G can be accessed anywhere, even on the go. Among the available offers, two stand out:
- The Bouygues 4G box offer, with no contract lock-in, at €32.99 per month for the first year then €42.99 per month, with speeds of up to 220 Mbit/s, and access to 70 live TV channels via the app;
- The Orange 4G box at 200 GB/month, with the first month free, then €36.99 per month: click here to discover Orange's 4G offers.

The pros and cons of 4G
Watching your series without connection issues is possible with 4G. The advantages are numerous:
- Easy and quick setup with no specific wiring required;
- Straightforward to use, ready to go immediately;
- Far more capable than ADSL technology;
- No contract commitment.
While the advantages are many, there are also some drawbacks to consider — such as checking your home's eligibility for the 4G network before subscribing. This will tell you whether the service is available in your area. Also worth noting: data is capped at between 200 and 250 GB, so it's important to keep an eye on your usage to avoid throttling.
